I truly enjoy photographing protests. The energy and sometimes chaos of it all is something I find invigorating. I have been able to document several protests here in the flatlands over the last handful of years and I thought I would share some of those photos with you, if you’ll indulge me a bit of your time.
A rally/protest for stricter gun laws following a school shooting. The sad part is I can’t remember which school shooting.

I’ve always loved the look of strength and determination in her pose and eyes. This was during a BLM rally and I believe she was looking back and eyeing the police that were on the adjacent rooftop.

BLM rally being shut down by police. This protestor who had led the crowd in chants and rallying cries was urging the protestors to respond peacefully and do as we were being told. “Show them we aren’t who they think we are” I remember him saying.

Thanks for looking at some protest photos with me. As I said, photographing these protests holds a special place in my heart. I really started cutting my teeth in photography with events like these and I will still jump at the chance to document these types of events in my area. It’s history and it deserves to be recorded. Have a great day, friends.
